The museum represents another aspect in terms of education. This is a public institution, which will give an historical background to the conflicts of today, and especially those represented in the memorial, and present issues relating to armed conflict and diplomacy in permanent and temporary exhibitions.
The meandering museum building forms a closed loop that encircles the main lobby and the negotiation center. It houses the largest permanent exhibition and other programs such as auditoriums, cafes and a museum book shop.
One of its characteristics is the steep, vertical, shafts that divides the museum into two levels. They are equipped with elevator platforms that functions as moving cinemas or seminar rooms, but are also used for auditoriums, cloak rooms and other facilities.
The museum also arranges temporary exhibitions and art shows in two satellite galleries at the perimeter of the city.
